Nowcasting Macro

Privacy Policy

Last updated June 2026. This policy explains what personal data Nowcasting Macro (“we”, “us”) collects, why, and the rights you have under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Data we collect

  • Account data — the email address and password you provide to register and sign in (passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider; we never see them in plain text).
  • Authentication metadata — account creation time, sign-in timestamps and session tokens, used to keep you logged in and to operate the free-trial window.
  • Technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser/user-agent, request times) generated by our hosting providers for security and reliability.

We do not sell your data, and we do not collect special-category data. The macro and news content shown in the product is aggregated from public sources .

2. Legal bases for processing

  • Contract — to create your account and provide the service you signed up for.
  • Legitimate interests — to secure the platform, prevent abuse, and keep it running reliably.
  • Consent — where required (e.g. optional communications); you can withdraw it at any time.

3. Cookies

We use strictly-necessary cookies set by our authentication provider to keep you signed in and to protect your session. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Because these cookies are essential to the service, they cannot be disabled while you remain logged in.

4. Retention

We keep account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to erase your data, we remove it (subject to any limited records we must keep for legal or security reasons). Server logs are retained for a short period by our hosting providers.

5. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected (rectification);
  • have your data deleted (erasure / “right to be forgotten”);
  • restrict or object to processing;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We respond within one month.

6. Security

Access is protected by authenticated sessions and encrypted connections (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data.

7. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
